Congratulations! At the end of this week you’ll have completed the Portionista weight loss challenge and learned all the tips and tricks necessary to lose the weight and maintain your ideal body for a lifetime.

This week you’ll get back to eating regular foods after the 10 day liquid detox and focus on following all the rules from the previous challenge weeks at one time! All new habits can be overwhelming to remember so let’s recap:

Step 1: Find Your Why

Remember why you are losing weight in the first place. Put that reminder somewhere you’ll see it on a regular basis. The refrigerator, the bathroom mirror, find your why and remember it.

Step 2: Take Weekly Measurements and Weigh Ins

Hold yourself accountable and stay on track. Take photos, measurements and weights at least every other week and record them somewhere you can see them and track them over time.

Step 3: Don’t Drink During Meals, Stay Away from Carbonation

In order to eat smaller portions and stay full longer, don’t drink during a meal or 30 minutes after. Don’t drink your calories. Lastly, in order to keep your stomach fit and small don’t expand it with carbonated beverages

Step 4: The Order of Eating Matters

You should eat your protein first, followed by vegetables, and eat complex carbohydrates last and few. Chew your food slowly and thoroughly in order to give it time to digest and stay fuller longer. Focus on chewing your food to the consistency of baby food or puree. This will slow you down

Step 5: Make a Portionista Plate

Your plate should be made up of 75% protein, 20% vegetables, and 5% fruit and complex carbs. Use your hand as a guide for how much food to eat. Protein in the palm, vegetables over the four fingers, and carbs at the thumb. Eat 6 small meals per day every few hours in the proper order.

Step 6: Take Weekly Measurements and Weigh Ins

Step 7: Detox your Sugar Habit

If you find yourself craving carbs and sugars again, you can use the 10 day liquid low carb diet as a detox to get you back on track. Everyone falls off the wagon occasionally, the most important thing is to get back on!
